The project provides secondary health teachers who work with marginalized youth with a handbook of service-learning ideas in six units to incorporate into the curriculum. The handbook allows students to utilize the skills they have learned in the classroom by participating in service-learning activities in their community. Students involved in all stages of the service-learning process gain confidence to take ownership of the program allowing for success. By connecting the community and schools through learning, students are given the opportunity to explore their talents, get to know their communities, strengthen developmental assets and learn from one another.

Using Lawrence Kohlberg's Theory of Moral Development and Discussion of Moral Dilemmas, an enrichment curriculum was created for use in the senior high school Health Education classroom or the Gifted Education classroom. The student is first introduced to the six stages of moral development as outlined by Kohlberg's theory. The instructional theories of Taba, Simon and Raths are also integrated with Kohlberg's theory through both individual and group discussion activities. Hoquiam High School has had no centralized source for information on athletic procedures and policies. Because of differences in schedules, much time has been wasted by the Athletic Director in distributing information, and by coaches in seeking answers to specific questions. A coaching manual has been compiled to provide a single source of accurate information for the coaches. This paper presents a survey study of the present status of scouting in Washington, Class AA, high school wrestling. The study through the use of a questionnaire and personal interview, was designed to reveal the experience level of coaches, the use of scouting, and the method of scouting in Washington State. Complex chi square was used to evaluate the relationship between coaching experience and the use of scouting. The relationship did not prove significant at the five percent level.
