Electronics is now being taught in the Highline District in one course for one year in each of the four high schools. There are no formal district objectives tor this course, no sequence of instruction, no list of course content. The writer has felt the need for the above and has interviewed all four instructors in the district and the assistant superintendent of instruction. It was agreed that in order to provide a more meaningful, correlated program, it would be necessary to have such a district-wide course of study developed. In preparation for teaching an eighth grade course at Monticello Junior High School, Longview, Washington, the writer proposes to develop a teaching guide for explorations in electricity and electronics. The Longview school system has not yet adopted a guide for this particular area. This guide is intended to provide the writer with a broader knowledge of background information, enabling him to make the course more interesting and useful to the students. By using this guide the writer will be able to direct his classes toward the objectives of industrial arts and general education.
