This study was conducted to better understand the impact on school progress of building a child's self-efficacy at home. During a parent-teacher conference, the teacher highlighted that my daughter lacks self-confidence in her ability to solve problems independently and avoids challenging tasks, which negatively affects her school progress. My daughter is a second-grader and the only participant in this study. The 5-week intervention focused on building my daughter's self-efficacy at home through reading inspiring books and practicing mindfulness activities. This action research project examined the effects of sign language on the ability of primary students to learn new Spanish vocabulary in a bilingual Montessori classroom. The research took place at a public charter Montessori school in Washington, District of Columbia. Twenty-seven primary school aged children were included in this seven-week study. Sources of data collection included a parent-teacher questionnaire, a baseline assessment, daily observation logs, a daily checklist, a weekly journal, and a summative assessment. The action research study investigated increasing communication on earthquake safety in order to alleviate parental concern. The investigation took place at a local private Montessori school. The participants were parents from the school. The data was collected through pre and post surveys, observations, and journaling. The results showed that increasing communication between the school and the parent community on this subject matter did alleviate parental concern. The parents felt more reassured knowing the details on earthquake safety plan. Abstract

This action research project was conducted to investigate the impact of merging the literacy program The Daily 5 with the Montessori Method of reading instruction. This project was intended to study the independent reading stamina of the students. It was conducted in a public Montessori School with kindergarten aged students from an early childhood classroom.
