In response to the declining quality of Japanese undergraduate education, the Ministry of Education implemented the accreditation system in 2004. As the first cycle of accreditation reviews ended in 2010, the effectiveness of these reviews has been discussed in the policy arena.

The need for well-prepared special education teachers has made it important to examine how to best select candidates for special education teacher education programs, or at least to determine which, if any, admission variables relate to program outcome measures. This study used archival data from 148 students to investigate the relationships among multiple pre-admission variables from both applications and on-site admission tasks (including undergraduate GPA, reference ratings, interview ratings, writing sample and math assessment scores and a role play teaching situation rating) and outcome variables. Typical And Top-Ranked Polish Private Higher Education : Intersectoral And Intrasectoral Distinctiveness, Joanna Musial

This dissertation analyzes the degree and shape of differences between private and public sectors (intersectoral) and within the private sector (intrasectoral) in Polish higher education. The intersectoral hypothesis is that Poland's two sectors are quite different and that these differences mostly follow those claimed and so far found in leading literature on private higher education globally. The intrasectoral analysis focuses on the top-ranked private institutions, for which I hypothesize characteristics of "semi-elite" institutions.

This study explored the learning experiences of international students in fully online courses offered through a US university. Employing a sociocultural framework, particularly ideas put forward by Russian psychologists L. Vygotsky and American scholars R. Scollon and S. W. Scollon, the study examined the interplay of host and native cultures in an online learning environment and studied its effect on international students' learning experiences, specifically on the learning experiences of one focal student from China.
