The curriculum was developed considering the following research question: How can a book study be used to support strategies for teacher wellbeing? To potentially utilize as a method for reducing abnormal behaviors and improving animal welfare, the purpose of the study is to survey zoos with captive sloth bears and determine if zoo-housed individuals display seasonal diet preferences. Ascarids (Parascaris equorum and Parascaris univalens) are a common type of intestinal parasite found in foals. By the age of one year, most horses have built a natural immunity to Parascaris spp. However, Parascaris spp. are known to be the most pathogenic type of parasite in foals and can cause poor growth, weight loss, colic, and even death. Unfortunately, Parascaris spp. have developed resistance to most anthelmintic drugs. Prior studies have found promising results for the use of ground papaya seeds as a short-term anthelmintic. The practicum was completed at Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians (COPC), a large group of physician owned primary care practices. COPC would like to start a program for pediatric weight management utilizing their three pediatric Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs). The first step was collecting data to see any improvements that are needed from the current nutrition program. The second step was reviewing the literature on pediatric weight management to ensure the new program is evidenced-based. All steps were evaluated by COPC leadership and collaborated with internal company resources.

The purpose of this pilot study was to examine influences of interaction with a trained facility therapy dog on a sample of high school students. Much of the existing literature on animal assisted therapy interaction engages with populations of younger children, college-aged adults, the elderly. This small sample (n=8) of adolescents provides insight into a population that despite benefiting from the interventions, is not widely studied. Emotional regulation and grit inventories were used to compare scores before and after direct interactions with the therapy dog. It involves active engagement with concepts in a digital game setting and can apply to a variety of subjects, including STEM fields. We examined this type of learning in the context of an undergraduate introductory genetics course: specifically, use of a genetics video game for teaching. The current study examines how police officers in various settings perceive interpersonal violence response training as well as how they respond to vignettes detailing hypothetical scenarios of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. A common criticism of experience with police following a traumatic occurrence of sexual or interpersonal violence is inappropriate attitude and conduct on behalf of law enforcement agents.
