A Curriculum Development For Writing A Personal Narrative In A French Immersion 5th Grade Class., Aliou Sall
Masters Theses/Capstone Projects
The purpose of this curriculum development project was to address the need of more writing in elementary French immersion school in grade five French class through the fusion on the writing workshop and the ECRI model (Reasoned and Coherent Writing in Immersion). The writing workshop is proven to work in schools teaching students writing in L1 and the Ecri model was developed by teachers who are experienced in teaching in an immersion setting to help students write in L2. A new framework was developed based on those two frameworks above to support fifth graders in a French immersion school to …

Pilot Study: Effects Of Whole Body Vibrational Therapy On Equine Epaxial Muscle Soreness, Riley Leibeck
Pilot Study: Effects Of Whole Body Vibrational Therapy On Equine Epaxial Muscle Soreness, Riley Leibeck
Undergraduate Honors Thesis Projects
Whole body vibrational therapy (WBV) is well-studied in people, but there is a paucity of research of its effect on horses. It is suggested that WBV use in horses increases performance, aids in recovery, and stimulates nerves, bones, and muscles in ways that normal exercise does not. The purpose of this pilot study was to determine if frequent WBV therapy sessions affect back soreness in horses using pressure algometry. Most sporthorses will experience back soreness in their careers, and it is regarded as one of the most common causes of poor performance in equine athletes. Five horses were measured for …

The Pseudo-Liberation Of Women And Feminism In American Cinema Of The 1970s, Claudia Smallwood
The Pseudo-Liberation Of Women And Feminism In American Cinema Of The 1970s, Claudia Smallwood
Undergraduate Honors Thesis Projects
This thesis provides an analysis of how women, feminism, and female liberation is depicted in American film of the 1970s, in context to genre revisionism and the second wave of feminism. The portrayal of women in film is reimagined due to the Hollywood Renaissance taking place in the mid-sixties and throughout the nineteen-seventies. As genre revisionists began re-working and undoing the tools of classical Hollywood cinema, the role of women began to shift as well, creating a form of counter-cinema. Films of this era, rather intentionally or unintentionally, start to address relevant issues of marital status, liberation, sexuality, and the …

Using Curriculum Mapping As A Tool To Align The Information Literacy And Evidence-Based Research Learning Outcomes In Nursing Curriculum, Jane Wu
Library Faculty & Staff Scholarship
This research investigated how to use curriculum mapping as a curriculum-integration tool to identify the components of information literacy (IL) and evidence-based practice (EBP) in the nursing curriculum for the future systematic incorporation of information literacy components in teaching EBP. The primary objective is to strengthen information literacy and evidence-based research competency. The ACRL information literacy framework in Higher Education, Information Literacy Competency Standards for Nursing, EBP Competencies, and the EBP research model were used to provide structure to create a map and crosswalk of information literacy and EBP student learning outcomes. We obtained 59 copies of the nursing undergraduate …
