We are requesting funds to support a Franco-American Film Festival, "Francos in Flim." We will hold this festival at the Franco-American Centre. We intend to screen at least three films, each about a different Franco community in Maine. Two of the filmmakers are from Maine; one is from Montreal. We will reach out to Maine Studies, The Canadian American Center, and the English department to connect with students and faculty interested in Maine, migration, and documentary filmmaking. Jon Imber's Left Hand documents the life of a local artist suffering from ALS, which eventually led to his death this past year.
