Digital Intelligence In Egypt’S K-12 Public Schools: Educator’ Perspectives, Mohammed Al Mousa
Digital Intelligence In Egypt’S K-12 Public Schools: Educator’ Perspectives, Mohammed Al Mousa
Theses and Dissertations
Technological integration has been a dominant feature of Egypt’s education recently, especially after the announcement of the Education 2.0 initiative, which aims to transform Egypt's education to digital-based and skill-based learning (UNICEF, n.d.), Ever since, public schools in Egypt started adopting technology into teaching practices through online classes, digital textbooks, e-learning platforms, and digital examinations. This educational transformation requires teachers and students to possess the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values to become effective and responsible users of the transforming digital education system and the digital world in general, which are collectively known as Digital Intelligence (DQ). Despite the substantial role …
Examining Changes In Learning And Engagement Of Higher Education Students In A Fully Online Flipped Learning Distance Education Classroom, James David Riel
Examining Changes In Learning And Engagement Of Higher Education Students In A Fully Online Flipped Learning Distance Education Classroom, James David Riel
Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports
The challenge of implementing effective online distance education courses for academics and institutions is a centuries-old task. We can look across early developments in the 18th century with the creation and delivery of correspondence courses; into the 20th century with teaching and learning across analog methods such as audio and video; and now in the current era of digitized mechanisms that enable the online classroom. This includes advances in internet technologies and computing abilities that are the empowering the backbone processes, bridging connectivity between the student and the instructor. As society has trended toward massive increases in online …
Examining The Relationship Between Confusion And Learning: A Descriptive Meta-Analysis, Dara L. Mcweeney, Aaron Y. Wong, Caitlin Mills
Examining The Relationship Between Confusion And Learning: A Descriptive Meta-Analysis, Dara L. Mcweeney, Aaron Y. Wong, Caitlin Mills
Honors Theses and Capstones
Previous research into confusion and learning neglects to investigate how this relationship varies when faced with impact factors such as multiple types of affect and learning measurements, learning environment, or grade level. Moreover, past research also reports di-verse effect size values for this relationship, making the correlation ambiguous. As such, the current research seeks to reconcile these nuances between confusion and learning through a meta-analytic approach. In this analysis, it was found that there was no relationship between confusion and learning gains, or in the subgroup analysis of grade level. Since only one impact factor, grade level, was analyzed, it …

General Engineering
Presently, there is an insufficient availability of human experts to assist students in reading competency and comprehension. Our team’s goal was to create an improved socially assistive robot for use by therapists, teachers, and parents to help children and adults develop reading skills while they do not have access to specialists. HAPI is a socially assistive robot that we created with the goal of helping students practice their reading comprehension skills. HAPI enables a student to improve their reading skills without an educator present, while enabling educators to review the student's performance remotely. Design constraints included: physical size, weight, duration …
A Narrative Approach To Educational Video Training, Matthew S. Havertz
A Narrative Approach To Educational Video Training, Matthew S. Havertz
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
Teachers often use videos to teach their students, but stories are not used as often in educational videos as they could be. Experts tell us that stories are an important part of teaching and learning. Unfortunately, there is only a small amount of research and no definitive expert agreement about stories used in educational videos. This is especially true for videos used with technical education students, like mechanic students or dental assisting students. In this study, dental assisting students learned how to assist a dentist with a standard cavity procedure after watching a video with or without a story. The …
The Effects Of Student Learning When Subtitles Are Added To Videos, George T. Taylor
The Effects Of Student Learning When Subtitles Are Added To Videos, George T. Taylor
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
This project investigated whether adding subtitles to educational videos increases learning among middle school students. A convenience sample (N=387) of Technology and Engineering middle school students were separated into two groups during the third term of both the 2018 and 2019 school years, where one group of students viewed videos with subtitles and the other group viewed the identical videos without subtitles. After viewing the videos, students immediately took a multiple-choice test. The test scores were used to analyze the variance between the two different groups. The results reveal that students who viewed videos with subtitles had slightly …

Estilos De Enseñanza De Los Profesores Y De Aprendizaje De Los Estudiantes Del Programa De Filosofía Y Letras De La Universidad De La Salle, Wilson Guerrero Gómez

Influencia De Las Tic En La Comprensión Lectora De Estudiantes De Primer Grado Del Colegio La Candelaria, Edna Margarita Guzmán Polania

Learning Experiences Of International Students In Online Course : Mixed Methods Study, Gulnara Sadykova
Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024)
This study explored the learning experiences of international students in fully online courses offered through a US university. Employing a sociocultural framework, particularly ideas put forward by Russian psychologists L. Vygotsky and American scholars R. Scollon and S. W. Scollon, the study examined the interplay of host and native cultures in an online learning environment and studied its effect on international students' learning experiences, specifically on the learning experiences of one focal student from China.
