Exploring The Application Of Compassionate Leadership Behaviors In The Workplace, Tracy L. Laurie

This qualitative case study answers the central research question “How are compassionate leadership behaviors encouraged and/or discouraged in the workplace?” Interviews with five individuals from one work team in an Am Law 100 law firm revealed how the compassionate leadership behaviors of integrity, accountability, presence, empathy, authenticity, and dignity (Shuck et al., 2019) were applied at work. This research explored four themes: leadership courage, growth mindset, empowerment, and coaching performance. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore how public education unions are maintaining or increasing their membership density to meet the requirements of Florida House Bill 7055. CS/House Bill 7055 was the legislative act passed in 2018 that required public education unions to maintain a 50% membership density for recognition as the collective bargaining agent. Traditional labor union studies typically reflect labor union decline through the decertification process started by the general membership due to dissatisfaction. The factors that influence pastoral tenure are varied and complex, especially as men and women serve congregations with growing diversities and needs. However, in the past 30 years, the research on pastoral tenure typically examined congregations that were Protestant in organizational belief and structure. Little research on pastoral tenure among Pentecostal churches could be found in the current body of literature.
