Digital Fluency : Skills Necessary For Learning In The Digital Age, Gerald White

This article examines the skills that will be required for the 21st century that will need to be embedded in educational curricula in order achieve them. It begins by considering how communicating between people has changed and current educational responses. A view of 21st century skills follows with an argument for some core subjects that will be necessary. Learning and teaching are then discussed leading to a view about what is needed in order to develop digital fluency in education, for now and the future.

This report describes the technical aspects of the National ITC Literacy Sample Assessment and summarises the main activities involved in the data collection, the data collection instruments and the analysis and reporting of the data. Chapter 2 summarises the development of the assessment domain and describes the process of item development and construction of the instruments. Chapter 3 reviews the sample design and describes the sampling process. Chapter 3 also describes the process of weighting to derive population estimates. El presente ensayo examina el papel de la tecnología en el aula de español como lengua extranjera (ELE) y la incorporación de sistemas de gestión de aprendizaje (LMS). Varios estudios sugieren que la combinación de la formación presencial con la instrucción virtual lleva a mejores resultados que esas formas implementadas individualmente. Se intenta aplicar esos estudios generales al aula ELE. Eso permite que los estudiantes tengan un rol más activo en su aprendizaje. Más que nadie, los estudiantes ELE deben recibir aducto para poder aprender. Con un LMS, no solamente reciben aducto en clase, sino también lo reciben en Internet. …

The purpose of the International Computer and Information Literacy Study 2013 (ICILS 2013) is to investigate, in a range of countries, the ways in which young people are developing computer and information literacy (CIL) to support their capacity to participate in the digital age. To achieve this aim, the study will assess student achievement through an authentic computer-based assessment of CIL administered to students in their eighth year of schooling.
