The purpose of this study was to investigate timing of reinforcement and its relationship to performance on a teacher-constructed test. More specifically, it was concerned with the extent that reinforcement timing influenced learning of seventh grade general science material in physical geology.

It is the purpose of this study to investigate the relationship between the reading comprehension and the verbal problem solving in arithmetic in each of the low, average and high ability groups of pupils in grades three, five and seven in the Arden Carmichael Elementary Union School District, and to determine the means and variability of achievement in the reading comprehension and the verbal problem solving in arithmetic.

The purposes of this study are: (1) to acquaint the reader with some of the studies already published on the relationship between the ACE and mathematic grades and other devices for predicting success in mathematics; (2) to present information on the relationship between the ACE and the first year mathematics grades at Central Washington college of Education; and (3) to present information on the relationship between grades in the different mathematics classes taught primarily during the freshman year at CWCE.
