The DePaul University IMSP1 was designed as a longitudinal cohort program. Two cohorts of up to 25 teachers each will be supported. The second cohort is offset by one calendar year. Each teacher will complete a sequence of 12 university graduate-level courses (48 quarter hours), over two and one-half years, leading to a Masters of Science in Science Education (MSSE) degree. Thus, all successful participants will meet or exceed requirements of the designation “highly qualified” as described in the MSSE proposal quoted here.

This paper examines the concept of empowerment. It also discusses some of the income generating activities of the Agency for Adult and Non-formal Education (AANFE), Oyo State. This was with the view to determining how income-generating activities have helped adult women to develop skills in their different vocations and how these programmes have made participants to become self-reliant and improved their standard of living. Two hypotheses were postulated and tested at 0.05 significant levels. The survey research design was adopted for the study. Impacts Of After-School Programs On Student Outcomes, Susan Zief, Rebecca Maynard, Sherri Lauver

This review examines the evidence from recent experimental design evaluations on the impact of after-school programming on youth context (i.e., student location, supervision, and safety); participation in activities; and behavioral, social and emotional, and academic outcomes. This review focuses on program models that are of particular interest to policymakers—programs that include academic support services—for two main reasons. First, 21st CCLC grantees are expected to incorporate academic support services into their programming, and it is likely that a large percentage of after-school programs are now funded with 21st CCLC grants.
