The pursuit of higher education is a goal that is embedded in secondary education and often correlated with the American dream. This study concentrated on the barriers that women with a felony conviction face when pursuing higher education after incarceration. Based on the identified barriers, current best practices for admission to higher education institutions and individual resources available for the ex-offender population were assessed. Marriage Vows And Economic Discrimination: The Married Teacher Problem, Sabrina Thomas

This study analyzes the rapid increase of economic discrimination against married women teachers in the early twentieth century, particularly during the Depression. It challenges the notion that economic discrimination against married women teachers was simple, easy, and largely was unchallenged. I argue that the creation and proliferation of marriage bars in the early twentieth century involved a compounded and multifaceted set of economic and social concerns. Support for this argument is accomplished by examination of the national debate on marriage bars as well as careful investigation of the local debate illustrated in Huntington, West Virginia.

Middle college high schools in America identify potential college students who are at-risk in the traditional high school environment. These students are placed on the college campus to take high school and college classes and receive dual credit for the latter. The program is specifically designed to keep these pupils in high school, graduate them, and send them on to higher education. The purpose of this study was to examine levels of job satisfaction of female administrators at Christian church-related colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States by examining differences based on the level of an institution's church-relatedness and the strictness of sponsoring church doctrine. This was a quantitative, non-experimental study. The effects of additional variables on job satisfaction including age, length of service at an institution, length of service in a position of employment, and personal religious preference were also studied.
