The Relationship Between Residential Land-Use Regulations And Regional Air Pollutants, Caren Royce Yap
The Relationship Between Residential Land-Use Regulations And Regional Air Pollutants, Caren Royce Yap
Student Research
As cities continue to grow at exponential rates, land use regulations, specifically density restrictions, have been implemented to mitigate economic effects, from increasing housing prices to difficult public transportation construction. These regulations range in type, taking into account factors regarding the most effective urban form for cities and recently the presence of COVID-19. Land use effects on housing prices are also adjacent to tackle the climate crisis. Two of the most common air pollutants, PM 2.5 and Ozone, are run in a comparative analysis to areas with varying measures of density restrictions to detect a possible association using multiple regression …

Spaces To Breathe, Ryan Rinn
Richmond Racial Equity Essays: Individual Essays
The author's vision is of a racially equitable Richmond that looks like every resident having the mental and physical health benefits of green space easily walkable from where they live. He outlines ideas for achieving this vision, with Black and Brown-led onboarding of new parks in neighborhoods and communities where no greenspaces exist within walking distance. Community-led creation of public open space is the inverse of annexation; it is an anti-racist land use strategy that empowers residents to build and enjoy places for the people.

2002 - North Monterey County Comprehensive Water Resources Management Plan
Monterey County Water Resources Agency Water Reports
North Monterey County experiences severe water supply and quality problems including falling water levels, seawater intrusion, and nitrate contamination. The region is in a significant state of overdraft where current demands greatly exceed the annual level of recharge. Without increased supplies, dramatic changes need to occur to the North County land use pattern to reduce demand. The Comprehensive Water Resources Management Plan combines water conservation, water supply, water quality, and land use actions into comprehensive policy alternatives. It is clear, however, that capital facilities are necessary if the problem is to be solved.

In order to meet the 2030 water needs, a reasonable estimate of land use and water use conditions …
Micro-Housing: Seattle’S Contradictory Approach To Affordable, Sustainable Housing, Nick Quijas
Micro-Housing: Seattle’S Contradictory Approach To Affordable, Sustainable Housing, Nick Quijas
Seattle Journal of Environmental Law
Seattle, along with many other cities, is facing a housing crisis the likes of which it hasn't seen in at least half a century. A lack of affordable housing is exacerbating a homelessness crisis, and is arguably contributing to sprawl. In the face of all of this, Seattle has allowed one of the densest housing options to become economically unfeasible to build at an affordable rate.
2017 – The Development Of The Land Tenure And Water Systems In California And Specifically In The Salinas Valley Groundwater Basin [Draft]
Related Research and Documents
Beginning with the Aboriginal era through the Spanish, Mexican and United States eras, maps and governmental documents reflect the state of knowledge concerning California (and the Salinas Valley) along with the driving needs and policies that determined how water was used and managed. By examining the maps, it is possible to determine the state of knowledge in Europe (and later in the United States) as it related to the physical and geographical attributes of California prior to colonization and subsequently throughout the Spanish and Mexican periods. Governmental documents provide a window to how land was used and granted during the …
