Islamic schools in Western secular societies are evolving in response to collective concerns over marginalization of Muslim children and communities and to increasing demands for high-quality education in the faith tradition. These schools are at the center of public debate over how they fit within secular societies. This paper aims to take a pedagogic look at the literature in the field of Islamic Education Studies.

The aim of this study is to identify attitudes of students in Grade Ten towards Islamic Education Subject in Dhofar Governorate per variables (Type, Academic Achievement level, parents educational level and parents monthly income). Data were collected by a questionnaire consisting of 27 paragraphs where its validity and reliability were verified. The study was conducted on male and female students in Grade Ten in Dhofar Governorate. The findings showed that attitudes of Grade Ten students towards Islamic Education subject are positive attitudes based on calculating theoretical mean on scale 6/3=2 and compare it to mean of students’ responses on the …

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed people’s social behavior in various fields, especially education and religion. Religious learning activities through social media have increased along with the shift from offline to online learning. Restrictions on physical activity encourage increased online activity. Religious education and teaching began to shift from traditional face-to-face to online teaching. Educational institutions no longer monopolize Islamic religious education. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقصي أثر استخدام تقنية الواقع المعزز في اكتساب طالبات الصف العاشر الأساسي المفاهيم الفقهية في مادة التربية الإسلامية. تكونت عينة الدراسة من (62) طالبة، قسمت إلى مجموعتين؛ (30) طالبة مجموعة تجريبية و(32) طالبة مجموعة ضابطة. واستخدم في الدراسة المنهج شبه التجريبي. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة أعد اختبار تحصيلي تكون من (20) سؤالا، تحقق من صدقه بعرضه على مجموعة من المحكمين، وأما معامل ثباته فحسب باستخدام معادلة ألفا كرونباخ، وبلغ (0,74). وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى الدلالة (0,05) بين متوسطي درجات طالبات المجموعتين التجريبية والضابطة في الاختبار التحصيلي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية التي استخدمت …

A few studies have investigated the structured professional development programmes provided to IE teachers. However, the area of autonomous IE teacher professional learning continues to be under-researched. Based on Al-Zarnuji's framework of lifelong learning, the authors interviewed IE teachers to investigate the practices, attitudes, and influencing factors regarding IE teacher professional learning in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This study sets forth for the first time the vital role of Dar Al'ulum, Egypt's first and only continuously operating university level teaching training institution, in the nationalization of Islamic and Arabic education in Egypt. Ali Mubarak, nineteenth century Egypt's longest enduring bureaucrat, initiated , and Khedive Ismail (1863-1879) founded Dar al Ulum in 1892 to train teachers of Arabic and Turkish for the newly expanding national (amiriyya) school system. This study grew out of a PhD dissertation, "Education, Language and Culture in Modern Egypt: Dar Al Ulum and its Graduates (1872-1923)" presented at The University of Michigin in 1978.
