Political Public Relations As A Tool For Combating Vote Buying In Nigeria For Development Purposes, Jacob Gbaden Chiakaan, Chamberlain Chinsom Egbulefu, Wombu Richard Kpera, Pius Kwapsoni Kaigama
ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement
The main aim of the study is to identify political public relations approaches that can be applied by the government and other bodies responsible for conducting elections in Nigeria to mitigate and eliminate vote buying. The study adopted a qualitative approach in the contextual analysis of data collected specifically from secondary sources. The results revealed that vote buying has become synonymous with elections in Nigeria. After reviewing some related empirical studies, several factors responsible for vote buying in Nigeria have been identified, including poverty, lack of education, high cost of buying forms to contest elections, and many others. The article analyzes the participation of the elderly and experienced persons in the state administration of the Timurids and Shaybanids in the XIV-XVI centuries. In particular, it is emphasized that the experience of older persons has become the basis of many achievements in administrative and military management. According to the article, studying the role of older people, that is, elders in public administration, will allow us to understand how important their role is in strengthening the security and well-being of the country. This essay provides a vivid window into an eighth-grade class engaged in a legislative curriculum drama. Students acted as members of political parties within the Senate and participated in legislative hearings, discussed costs and benefits to legislation, and engaged in debates. This article describes and reflects upon efforts to generate greater support for media literacy and critical thinking within the strategies and programs of the Federal government, primarily in agencies with an interest in youth substance abuse prevention. Women in the United States (US) are a vital part of the workforce and the economy. They represent 50.7 percent of the population and 49.8 percent of payroll employment in the US workforce. Women also outpace men in the number of college degrees conferred annually. However, women hold fewer board seats and executive level positions than men in American corporations and higher education institutions. Additionally, census data indicates that women earn approximately 77 cents on every dollar earned by men. The article portrays the passage of the Higher Education Act of 1965 as a watershed event, much like the Morrill Land Grant Act and the G.I. Bill, in the history of opening higher education to a broader range of citizens. What had once been a largely private enterprise for the elite became an increasingly public commitment to make a college and university education accessible to anyone qualified to take advantage of the opportunity.
