Objectives: To explore and compare the knowledge, attitudes and experiences of doctors, dentists and veterinarians (as prescribers) in relation to antibiotic use and antibiotic resistance (AbR), and to consider the implications of these for policy-making that support a One Health approach. Design: A cross-sectional survey conducted online. Setting: Doctors, dentists and veterinarians practising in primary, secondary or tertiary care in Australia. Participants: 547 doctors, 380 dentists and 403 veterinarians completed the survey. Main outcome measures: Prescribers' knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of AbR, the extent to which a range of factors are perceived as barriers to appropriate prescribing practices, and perceived …

The Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Registrar Satisfaction Survey (RSS) is used for ensuring continuous improvement in the training of doctors in the AGPT program. It was developed to gauge the level of registrar satisfaction with the quality of their training, with training providers, and with career progression.

The Australian Medical Assessment Collaboration (AMAC) project, funded by the Office of Learning and Teaching, seeks to provide an infrastructure and a road map to support collaboration between Australian medical schools in matters of assessment. This may not seem very new perhaps, because there are already several collaborations taking place in Australia, and, typically, they relate to joint item banks, (such as the IDEAL consortium), or joint test administration, (such as the International Foundation of Medicine tests). This is the final report for AMAC-2, entitled Australian Medical Assessment Collaboration: from proof of concept to proof of sustainability (OLT project ID12-2482). This project advanced previous work funded by the ALTC and was undertaken from early 2013 to mid 2014. Mandatory Continuing Education: Does It Really Protect Society From Incompetent Health Professionals, Patricia A. Mcpartland

Although the focus is narrow, this article argues that, in the face of short half-lives of current knowledge, continuing education requirements are needed and suggests possible improvements in the way that continuing education is implemented. While the issue is not explicitly addressed, readers might ponder whether such requirements might be profitably extended to other disciplines.
