The purpose of this proposed transcendental phenomenological study was to describe specifically the experience of exceptional professors who convey relevance to students in online distance learning higher education courses. Department of Occupational Therapy Entry-Level Capstone Projects

This capstone project was completed in the Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) program at Nova Southeastern University, Tampa, Florida. The capstone experience focused on academia. The final culminating project presents a general overviewed of the planning of the capstone project experience. Two courses that were impacted during my capstone project were OTD8262-Research Design/ Quantitative and OTD-8263 Research Project Implementation. The final project was a Pediatric Skills Camp targeting area that needed improvement to ensure success in level two fieldwork experience. All projects implemented during the capstone experience were completed and students benefit from the materials and learning opportunities provided.

This presentation will describe the implementation of an appropriate and effective teaching method to help pre-service teacher candidates learn about major course topics. As a method of teaching course content the presenter implements reading circles and the use of the wiki to teach course content in a college course for pre-service special education teacher candidates. The reading circles offer a direct way to encourage reading of course content and, in turn, lead to a better understanding of course content. Focusing on the use of popular magazines in interpersonal communication instruction, this paper argues that such magazines can provide a rich source for application and criticism of interpersonal communication processes in everyday life. The first section of the paper reviews research and criticism dealing with the content of magazine articles that offer advice on interpersonal relationships and related topics, noting that such research and criticism are rare in the field. With the increase of online learning in the K-12 environment, research must turn to specific studies focused upon this level. One area of investigation surrounds the development of online course content and individualised student learning styles. This review found that although there is a vast body of research concerning online learning in the post-secondary environment, this is not true for K-12 education. Recent studies have begun the discussion for secondary school students as online learning becomes more prevalent and accepted as a means of learning.
