The Exploration Of Undergraduate Attitudes And Knowledge About International Agricultural Issues And Us Agricultural Policy, Caitlin Bletscher, Megan Gould, Shuyang Qu

Journal of International Agricultural and Extension Education

Because of this, many U.S. universities have promoted internationalizing curriculum and increased international study abroad experiences. However, few studies have examined the impact of international experiences on students’ knowledge and attitudes about international ag issues and policies. This study bridges this gap by identifying the relationship between student knowledge and attitude toward international ag issues and U.S. ag policy, and how international experience and demographic variables play a role in that relationship. …

Hydroponic Production: An Educational Dvd For High School Agricultural Education, Lindy Mattice, Chelsey Brown

Agricultural Education and Communication

It was created for agricultural educators, in hope high school agricultural teachers would show it in their classrooms. The goal was for students to be able to see a commercial style hydroponic system, and to understand the basic concepts of operation. The video was intended to be supplemented with additional printed information on alternative farming methods. It was not intended to be a sole source of information, but should instead be used to enhance the learning environment for students.

The survey of local high school …

Sabbatical Leave Proposal And Report, Bruce Henrickson

Sabbaticals

I plan to visit other colleges, agriculture businesses, and various other agriculture entities to help update my knowledge and learn about their contribution to the agriculture industry. I have found my schedule of responsibilities at Parkland has kept me so busy that it has been very difficult to adequately keep up to date in our fast changing industry. This leave would allow me to greatly improve my knowledge base for teaching and ultimately my future students will have a better opportunity to learn.
