Impact Of The Engineering Design Process On Rural Female Students’ Achievement And Self-Efficacy, Whitney Lowery Oberndorf
Theses and Dissertations
Nearly one-fifth of U.S. children attend rural schools; however, these students have fewer opportunities for high-quality STEM learning. Rural students are also less likely to attend college and less likely to enroll in STEM majors than their urban and suburban peers. The question that guided this research was: What do the stories of graduate student parents inform us about the need to improve policies and practices at USD? Three cycles of action research were conducted at the University of San Diego between November 2022 and March 2023, with a total of seven participants. The methods of research included focus groups, interviews, and a creative group session. It was found that …

The Vermont Connection
It is okay, beautiful, and brave to be different and take a different path as long as your own dreams and goals are being fulfilled. As virtual learning and online classes are becoming more popular, more students are realizing they can have the best of both worlds, that is, further their education while fulfilling family obligations.
The student parent life is a different journey with its own unique challenges and blessings. Happiness is personal and comes from within, and can be in the form of being a parent and seeing one's own child grow while pursuing academic and career growth. …
