The use of educational technology in higher education has been growing over the past few years. The focus of this research study is to understand the relationships between college students’ reactions to instruction and those courses that use educational technology, together with other important instructional elements, to facilitate learning. The modality principle was first addressed in 1989 by Mayer and Moreno. The modality principle asserts presenting words as speech, rather than on-screen text, is more effective for the learner. This research study sought to answer two research questions: 1) How do K-12 teachers perceive that their pedagogical approaches change or remain the same after being involved in a 1:1 program? and 2) What factors do K-12 teachers identify that impact or prevent pedagogical change? The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of a newly designed systems approach to the problem of students' lack of big-picture experience in the College of Veterinary Medicine. To determine whether students' performance on problem-solving for various scenarios improved after intervention , a design research methodology was adopted to develop a systems-approach teaching and learning environment.
