Since the mid-1980s, controversy has surrounded the issue of undergraduate instruction at large research universities by teaching assistants who are not native speakers of English and who have received their undergraduate training outside the United States. The purpose of this study was to examine student perception of the importance of attaining skills and to measure college satisfaction as students were about to graduate or leave their current public college. The study utilized American College Testing's (ACT) World-of-Work Map and College Outcomes Survey instrument;Participants in this study, 4,421 college students at 36 public 2- and 4-year institutions in 13 Midwestern states, rated the perceived importance of attaining 26 skills, expressed their level of satisfaction with 39 aspects of college life and identified their occupational choice. The purpose of this study was to evaluate specific changes made to the federal need analysis formula between aid years 1992 and 1993. The subjects examined were 1992 dependent student, firm family financial aid applicants at Iowa State University. A random sample of 200 records was drawn from a farm population of 2225 students;Aid applicant data were drawn from the institutions student aid system. The purpose of this study was to determine if there was a positive change in levels of self-esteem for students who completed a Personal Growth and Development course at Purdue University. The study also examined if there was a greater change in levels of self-esteem for students enrolled in a Personal Growth and Development course compared to students enrolled in an Educational Psychology course;The 102 respondents were fall 1993 enrollees of two selected courses at Purdue University.
