It is the purpose of this study to trace the development and progress of public schools and their programs in Live Oak County, Texas, from the time of the earliest schools to the present. The events and movements that have influenced the educational system of Live Oak County have been selected as the vehicles for carrying through this effort.

Case Studies Of Six Delinquent Teen-Age Boys Of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robert Charles Groman

The purpose of this study is (1) to discover as much information as possible concerning the behavior, atttiudes, and general characteristics of six delinquent teen-age boys of Spanish-American background in a special class in the Albuquerque, New Mexico public schools; (2) to interpret this information as gained from tests, interviews, and records of each boy in order to acquire a better understanding of him as a basis for possible remedial procedures; and (3) to present this information in the form of a case study for each delinquent boy.

The writer, in order to lay the foundation for the improvement of the public relation program for his community, conducted this questionnaire study with a threefold purpose in mind. (1) To evaluate the overall public relations of the school with its community, (2) to bring to light the weaknesses and neglected parts as well as the strengths of the school and community relations and, (3) thereby to provide a point of departure in improving the school public relation program.

If the schools of New Mexico are proved, by the monthly fluctuations of juvenile delinquency offenses, to be one of the major contributing factors to juvenile delinquency, through the lack of a flexible academic program, misunderstanding teachers, or for other reasons, it will be of deep interest and concern to school administrators to know this in order to try to make provisions and to better the guidance necessary for each individual case.
