I said I didn't need that) or Inservice for Aespiritic Education; and 4) my formal educational design for Aespiritic Education. The major purpose of this study was to examine the Virginia Teachers Association as a force for educational change in Virginia. The study involved (1) an examination of the primary purposes of the association and their relationship to its educational goals and programs, (2) a review of the forces that generated educational change in Virginia during the period 1940-1965, (3) a survey of the contributions of two of the organization's most influential leaders, and (4) an examination of the process involved in merging Virginia's black and white teachers associations. Purpose. The purpose of the study was to determine the impact the self-study and accreditation process had on the administration and management of selected accredited Michigan public community colleges. The study investigated the following questions: 1. Does accreditation bring about educational improvements? 2. Does accreditation protect the various publics which educational institutions serve? 3. Is accreditation a catalyst for educational change? 4. Does accreditation provide the spark which results in educational services of superior quality? This study relates the history of The College of William and Mary in Virginia during the first twenty-seven years of the nineteenth century, 1800-1827, and examines the history in terms of the leadership provided for the College for the purpose of determining whether or not the College experienced a loss of leadership during the period of the study. The history is related chronologically through the administrations of President James Madison, 1800-1812; President John Bracken, 1812-1814; President John Augustine Smith, 1814-1826; and President William Holland Wilmer, 1826-1827, and is examined in terms of the leadership experienced by the College during each …
