A short on-line survey was undertaken by Fr Alan Hilliard, Coordinator of the Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy Service at TU Dublin. Peer Mentors (second year students who volunteer to support first year students) were asked to reflect on their experiences of college life during lockdown. They were also asked their opinion on the challenges facing incoming first years. The findings have very specific insights that can assist us as we prepare to welcome our new first years and indeed all students back to college. There has been a growing interest and increase in work shared about national K-12 Computer Science Education (CSED) curriculum and implementation efforts around the world. Much of this work focuses on curriculum analysis, country reports, experience reports and case studies. The K-12 CSED community would benefit from an international strategic effort to compare, contrast and monitor K-12 CSED over time, across multiple countries and regions, to understand pedagogy, practice, resources and experiences from the perspective of teachers working in classrooms. The Norwegian mapping authority has been carrying out a project on mapping accessibility following a national standard since 2009. In the beginning, the mapping was organized and carried out by the Norwegian Mapping Authority. This resulted in the creation of a good basic dataset for many Norwegian districts and bigger district-centers and enabled us to develop a national standard. However, it also lead to that the districts often did not feel any responsibility or ownership of the dataset and therefore did not use it in the scope that was intended. Work-Related Stress: Survey Of Academic Staff In The Institutes Of Technology Sector, Aidan Kenny

This article presents findings from a survey of professional workers in the institutes of technology sector in Ireland regarding work-related stress. The research instrument was based on a work-related stress questionnaire developed by the UK Health and Safety Executive, augmented with a specific subset of questions relevant to the Irish higher education sector. The questionnaire format was modified to enable online delivery. It was distributed to a sample population in 2014 with a response rate over 30% (n=1,131). The research provides baseline data on work-related stress levels experienced by workers in this sector. The results associate increased levels of risk …
