Friends of Murray Library

Friends of Murray Library at Messiah College was formed in 1993 for the following purposes:

  • To stimulate interest in the collections and facilities of Murray Library.
  • To provide an opportunity for those interested in the library to participate in exhibits, programs, and volunteer activities.
  • To attract gifts of books, manuscripts, and other materials for the library's enrichment.
  • To encourage and receive financial contributions for needs beyond the library budget, such as building special collections.

OBJECTIVES 1.Summarize details of unique case involving undiagnosed clotting disorder in a collegiate athlete. 2.Present overview regarding mechanism and epidemiology of protein S deficiency. 3.Identify the role of the certified athletic trainer in the evaluation and treatment process, and as a patient advocate. 4.Emphasize importance of trust and communication between athlete, certified athletic trainer, and team physician throughout evaluation and treatment.

At the beginning of each academic year, Messiah College held Community Day, a time for the University's Community of Educators (CoE) to gather, reflect, and prepare for the upcoming year. As part of Community Day, President Phipps presented her State of College Address, introducing the theme for that academic year.
