This particular violinist is becoming a major concert artist on the international level, and the opportunity to have him here at UMaine comes through connections that our string faculty members have made through teaching at various summer festivals. Professor Ian Lustick will present a lecture entitled, "Time, Israel, and the Demise of Developed States: The 'Solutions' that History Provides" on 14 April at 7:30 in 100 Neville Hall as part of the Schonberger Peace and Social Justice Memorial Lecture Series. Professor Lustick will also deliver a luncheon talk for the Socialist and Marxist Studies Series on 14 April at 12:30 in the Bangor Lounge in the Memorial Union on "American Foreign Policy and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict." Both talks will discuss important issues concerning the volatile Middle East and US foreign policy.
