The present study theoretically investigated the effects of long-term use of hormonal birth control on the female cardiovascular and neurologic systems. The setting will take place at Fort Hays State University campus. Our participants of the survey will include 200 random females ages 16 to 25. This data will be taken from those women who take hormonal birth control versus those females who do not take it on a daily basis. This study examines the effects of immediate maternal-infant skin-to-skin contact, and how those effects compare to mothers and babies who have delayed or skin-to-skin. Skin-to-skin contact, also known as “the golden hour”, is a remarkable practice that occurs immediately after birth. During this intimate bonding experience, the newborn is placed directly on the mother's chest, their tiny body nestled against her warm skin. Studies have shown numerous benefits from this practice. “Failure to rescue (FTR) is failure or delay in recognizing and responding to a hospitalized patient experiencing complications from a disease process or medical intervention” (Hall et al., 2020, Background section). It is viewed in three parts: failure to recognize, failure to report, and failure to treat. The first two of these are dependent on nursing.

The use of simulation training can increase confidence in recognizing a change in patient condition. This is a first step in preventing Failure To Rescue deaths, as well as other adverse outcomes.

Media, for better or worse, is a powerful social influence that runs much deeper than the daily news. Our qualitative survey-based study focuses on how Irish women learn about and understand sexuality; our findings demonstrate the significant role media plays in this development. Specifically, our survey indicates the influence of the media in Irish women's lives as it leads to societal expectations. More than half of our participants cited media as an integral tool in learning about sexuality, including magazines, television, movies, novels, and the Internet. Objective: To compare the efficacy of ADHD medication to behavioral therapy in children, aged 6-10, through test scores and behavior throughout a school year.

Design: Quasi-experimental

Setting: Roosevelt Elementary School in Hays, KS

Participants: Children ages 6-10 diagnosed with ADHD

Methods: With the necessary consents, participants meeting the necessary criteria will undergo their fall semester with only behavioral therapy to manage their ADHD and then utilize medications their spring semester. The SNAP-IV survey will be utilized to measure the efficacy of the two treatment approaches based on teacher and parent perceptions. Test scores will offer a quantitative measurement.

Nurse educators use simulation as a tool to teach and evaluate clinical skills. The opportunities have expanded with the advancement of new technologies related to high-fidelity (HFS) simulation. However, HFS has limitations, as there is a lack of meaningful two-way communication. During the last 10 years, educators have increased the usage of standardized patients (SPs) in simulation experiences. SPs can add realism to a simulation, providing nonverbal cues and psychological responses that a manikin cannot produce. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has profound implications for higher education and teaching and learning. The present study, conducted at a state, comprehensive university (SCU) is the US Midwest, evaluated how effective faculty in a leadership focused program are at differentiating between human or AI-generated content. Participants reviewed 12 “student assignments” representing short answer essays, and completed the following tasks: 1) evaluated the assignment on three dimensions of the grading rubric; 2) assigned a percent grade; 3) indicated whether it was human or AI-generated; and 4) provided a rationale for their selection.

Academic Leadership Journal in Student Research

Under Title IX and the 2011 Dear Colleague Letter, universities were reminded of their obligation to educate, prevent, and respond to sexual assaults and other forms of gender-based violence. The current study used a survey packet including a Rape Myth Acceptance scale, questions about related education, and a scale rating participants’ level of confidence on seven vignettes. The sample indicated participants were more likely to recognize whether consent was given than they were to recognize whether the vignette met legal standards for sexual assault. The results can provide universities with information to better individualize their sexual assault prevention efforts.

International students face challenges as they transition to higher education in the United States. In this article, we explore that transition process when it intersects with an institution in a rural setting. We used Schlossberg’s transition theory—with a particular emphasis on the 4Ss of situation, self, support, and strategies—as the theoretical framework for this case study, and we found that the situation for international students in this transition was fraught with concurrent stressors of isolation, food, and safety. The need for fluent readers is clear in schools today as many readers are lacking reading fluency. This qualitative study examined the influence Readers’ Theater, a reading strategy, has on reading fluency. The following questions were addressed: 1) How does Reader's Theater influence reading fluency? 2) How did students’ selfassessment influence reading fluency? 3) How did teacher assessment influence reading fluency? The participants included four third-grade students from an elementary school in the Midwest. The findings suggested that Readers’ Theater positively influenced student’s reading fluency.
