Within the educational system, students with autism are often misunderstood or overlooked, resulting in an inadequate educational experience for students with ASD. This research was conducted in pursuit of collecting information on students with autism so that current music educators might be better equipped to engage these students effectively within their classroom. Six, current music educators were interviewed with a series of 9 questions in order to gather a small sample of what is currently occurring in American school systems when it comes to the music education of students with Autism. This study explored the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) to model and 3D print waterfalls and bedrock features for use as classroom teaching aids and for possible use in hydrology experiments involving flumes. To achieve the goals of this study, two waterfalls and one bedrock feature were photographed and 3D printed. The waterfalls were Ludlow Falls in Miami County, OH, and Cedar Cliff Falls in Greene County, OH. The bedrock feature was Lizard Head Rock near Sedona, AZ. At the College of the Ozarks, all full-time students work in exchange for tuition. The campus is built with student labor, and college functions are largely conducted by students. This study explored the extent to which faculty report teaching engineering and computing students about ethics and societal impacts (ESI) in courses and via co-curricular activities. The research questions were to determine if there were differences in the topics, teaching methods, assessment methods, and satisfaction with ESI instruction between faculty from religiously-affiliated (RA) and non-religiously affiliated (NRA) institutions. Research demonstrates that generational poverty and poor education are cyclical in nature. In Haiti, poverty diminishes the quality of education due to the fact it hampers access to education, lacks parental involvement, and has inadequate health care. Conversely, poor education traps Haitians in the cycle of generational poverty by inhibiting them from developing life skills and adequate literacy; in turn, this disables them from participating in higher paying jobs. Early music learning is often facilitated through the oral transmission of music – a practice that has existed since long before the emergence of standardized music notation. We conducted a qualitative research study on the lives of homeschool parents. We interviewed 24 parents who have either homeschooled their children in the past or were currently homeschooling at the time of the study, regarding constructs such as success of homeschooling and the effects homeschooling has had on the personal lives of the parents. Several themes emerged from the study’s data. One such was the feeling of homeschooling being a success in comparison to traditional education. They shared accounts bonding with their children and being able to set the curriculum speed just right for their children. The second theme …

Unfolding cases incorporating transitions of care may improve student skills and attitudes toward interprofessional collaboration.

Objectives: This project assessed the efficacy of unfolding cases in improving interprofessional skills and attitudes among pharmacy, nursing, and social work students. The ultimate goal is to integrate this model, if proven effective, into the curricula of multiple health science centers.

The essay argues that the Common Core is a postmodern reinvention of Milton's education reform presented in his tract, "Of Education." Sex education continues to be a controversial topic in the United States. This study examines the relationship between sex education styles and actual sexual practices of students from several Midwest universities (n=1042). More specifically, this study looks at the difference in effectiveness between parent and teacher sex education, the effectiveness of safe sex education, and the sexual behavior perceptions of those who practice abstinence. Results showed that parents had a greater influence over their children than school-based sex education, that safe sex education promotes protected sex, and that the perceived acceptance of non-intercourse sexual behavior correlates negatively with abstinence education.

Historically, research indicated that educators were financially motivated to hold multiple jobs (Bell & Roach, 1990). However, recent research indicates that both older and more educated workers in all fields had increasingly nonpecuniary motivations. In fact, 68% of those with a doctoral degree and 46.9% of those 55 or more years old were not primarily motivated by money (Hipple, 2010). Scrupulosity (SC) is a subtype of OCD that manifests in religious obsessions and compulsions. Scrupulosity is associated with poorer prognosis and higher levels of magical ideation (MI), defined as beliefs that go against culturally accepted laws of causality. A new measure called the Illusory Beliefs Inventory was created to measure MI in scrupulous populations. However, the items on the spirituality subscale may fail to discriminate between pathological thinking and normal religious beliefs. The current study contained two purposes.
