Adolphe Stagg (1 834-1 914) lived and worked in South Central Louisiana during the latter two-thirds of the nineteenth century and the first decade of the twentieth century. During a forty-year period, 1874-1 91 4 he served as a minister, private school teacher (1876), Tax Assessor (1 877), and member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.4 He served in these posts with distinction, influence, and honor. There is a pattern to Blake's ambiguity. The complexity and intricacy of the images in the earlier manuscripts demand careful reading of all of Blake's works before interpretation. There are many examples, as this study attempted to show, of deliberate and effective ambiguity in the images of weeping.

This study was directed to determine if, in fact, clustering actually does influence the students' perceptions of the large university environment. This study examined the environment perceptions of clustered Presidential Living Center freshmen students as compared with non-clustered freshmen students living in Hess and Massey residence halls. All of these students are located on the Knoxville campus of The University of Tennessee. This difference in perceptions was measured by the administration of the College and University Environment Scales which was published by Pace in 1963 and is designed to measure college environments. Various opinions exist concerning the desirable and undesirable aspects of such programs.

Katherine Anne Porter is the internationally known novelist and short story writer who received the Pulitzer Prize in 1966 for her work, The Collected Stories of Katherine Anne Porter. Miss Porter, a near octogenarian from Texas, has done a regional type story with settings in Southwestern United States, Mexico, Central Europe (Germany) and the Old South.
