The driver education program being operated in this state is not adequate in terms of meeting the course standards issued by the U. S. Department of Transportation. There is no regular or recommended procedure set forth by the state of Washington pertaining to standards for graduation requirements for special education students. The purposes of this study were two fold: (1) to examine the progress reporting systems in an effort to derive a method of reporting which would serve the needs of students, parents, and school personnel; (2) to help establish graduation requirements for the special education students in the Pateros School District.

The purpose of this study was to examine the methods used by three school districts--a small district, a medium-sized district, and a larger district--which have set up centralized technical services for the organization of learning resource materials, thereby relieving the individual librarian within the buildings of certain necessary, but time-consuming tasks. These methods will be set down herein and studied with the possibility in mind that districts which do not now provide these services may find some suggestions to consider in deciding upon the feasibility of such services.

The purpose of this survey was (1) to determine the purchasing power and buying habits of a typical student, for himself and others, in a small high school over a specific period of time; (2) to compare the amounts (commodities and services) spent by boys and girls; (3) to determine the relative buying habits and purchasing capacities of different high school classes; (4) to ascertain if students living in-town spend more or less than those living out-of-town; and (5) to compare the purchasing results of this survey with two other selected similar surveys that have been completed on consumer buying.

The purpose of this study was to determine if there were significant differences in first grade students who had attended kindergarten and those who had had no prior formal school training.

The hypotheses in the study were that there is no significant difference in the areas of (1) achievement, (2) adjustment to school, (3) sociometric choices, (4) readiness for first grade, and (5) mental ability between first grade stu­dents selected for this study who have had kindergarten expe­rience and those who have had no prior formal school training.

Adolphe Stagg (1 834-1 914) lived and worked in South Central Louisiana during the latter two-thirds of the nineteenth century and the first decade of the twentieth century. During a forty-year period, 1874-1 91 4 he served as a minister, private school teacher (1876), Tax Assessor (1 877), and member of the Louisiana House of Represen­tatives.4 He served in these posts with distinction, influence, and honor.
