The research question addressed in this study used a researcher created pre- and post- google survey to investigated eighth grade student reaction to the PACER fitness test after a stretching intervention. Topics explored in the review of the literature include different types of stretching, effects of stretching, history of fitness testing, new approaches to fitness testing, fitness and academic success and the decline of Physical Education. This project examines intervention and prevention education to interrupt bullying behaviors among elementary age school children. It explores specifically how students based on culture, ethnicity, immigration status, and/or identification as an English language learner are targeted in a suburban metro district in the upper Midwest. In the context of this project, a connection is drawn between a rise in bullying behaviors based on bias in today’s political climate. Textbooks remain the primary instructional medium in most social studies classrooms, but are rarely written with supports that allow struggling readers to comprehend the text independently. This action research explores how kindergarten students learn about forces and motion through inquiry-based, place-based methods. The learning took place as part of an existing day spent learning outdoors, known as Forest Monday, that includes extended time for free play. The three sub-questions addressed 1) science content learning, 2) science practice application, and 3) the incorporation of science content and practices into free play time outdoors. This paper explores the concept of the atmosphere of a space, specifically related to educational and goal oriented spaces housed in Youth-Adult Partnerships, and guided by curriculum. Through participatory action research, myself and the peer leaders of Worcester’s HOPE Coalition have engaged in a deep reflection on our experiences in these spaces together. Through our dialogue we came to conceptualize the atmosphere or “vibe,” and theorized how it is created, how it changes, and how it impacts space and the people in it. The purpose of this mixed methods study was to explore how cultural responsiveness informed the development of and decision-making about K-12 English Language Arts curricula in New Jersey. Through the use of a survey and interviews, twelve curriculum supervisors offered an array of insight regarding their professional agency, curriculum processes, and factors that influence the areas associated with the program of study. Findings revealed that although supervisors do not have autonomy in the curriculum development process, they do have greater agency when it comes to selecting supplemental instructional resources and classroom supports. Teaching team-based care can be accomplished by integrating Interprofessional Education (IPE), a complementary curriculum that teaches students to collaborate with other health science students, into an already existing health science specific curriculum.
