The study, "A Mixed Methods Study of Faculty Perceptions and Self-Assessments of Constructivist Teaching Methods at a Regional University in the State of Georgia” examined the self-assessments and perceptions of faculty at a regional university in the State of Georgia. Teaching styles vary greatly amongst educators. One being extensively researched and highly discussed is the method of cooperative learning. Although many studies have shown the benefits of incorporating cooperative learning into classrooms, it has not been a widely used method of teaching in high school mathematics classrooms. This study explores some of the efforts that teachers, who utilize cooperative learning in their classrooms, make to implement cooperative learning lessons successfully. This dissertation explored ways that college students reflectively described the social influences related to their learning failures. This exploration was conducted using semi-structured interviews and Stake's multiple case analysis method. The findings from the interviews were used to develop a framework that describes the key social influence attributes of the learning failure experiences. The key attributes of the framework include: (a) roles, (b) context, and (c) phases. Each key attribute is discussed in detail.
