Race, Conquest And Revenge: Why Do Black People Resist Racial Revenge?, Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

This paper claims that people of Black African descent resist racial revenge, including against people of European descent. The paper began by presenting data illustrating that millions of Black Africans were captured and transported to be enslaved through the Indian Ocean, Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Saharan, and Red Sea Slave Trades from the 1400s to the 1900s. Angola, Nigeria, Ghana, and Ethiopia are among the nations that lost at least one million of their members during this period. Inter-Ethnic/Interracial Romantic Relationships In The United States: Factors Responsible For The Low Rates Of Marriages Between Blacks And Whites, Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

This paper examines the status of interracial romantic relationships among non-Black groups and those between Blacks and non-Blacks in the United States. The research shows that, apart from Blacks, inter-ethnic/interracial marriages and other forms of romantic unions have increased substantially by the 21st Century. For Black Americans, however, the data show that just a very tiny fraction of them are involved in interracial romantic re-lations, including marriages with Whites and other non-White groups. The paper then goes on to present the factors responsible for this phenomenon.

Educational Attainment, Population Increase And The Progress Of African Americans, Amadu Jacky Kaba Jan 2010

Educational Attainment, Population Increase And The Progress Of African Americans, Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

This paper claims that African Americans are making consistent progress in college or university enrollment and degree attainment. These gains in educational attainment have led to a substantial proportion of African Americans to rise in many important sectors of society, such as business, the military and politics. However, there is a concern that unlike the Asian and Hispanic populations in the United States, proportionally, the African American population is not increasing as rapidly. This slow annual growth of the African American population may have both economic and political implications in the years and decades to come.

."Explaining President Barack Obama’S First Visit To Africa (Egypt): Three Phenomena Of Africa And Africans As The Core Of U.S.-Arab/Muslim Relations,", Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

On June 4, 2009 U.S. President Barack Obama delivered a highly anticipated speech on U.S.-Arab / Muslim relations in Egypt, Africa. The selection of Egypt as the venue for a speech that was planned for many months, was a strategic one. Why Africa? Why Egypt? To answer those questions, I have come up with three phenomena that I think are crucial to that decision. The first phenomenon is that geographically, Africa has been the land where the vast majority of all Arabs in the world reside. The second phenomenon is that in 2001 and in 2009, Africa is the only …

."Africa’S Development In The Era Of Barack Obama: The Role Of The African Union,", Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

This paper examines Africa’s development in the President Barack Obama era. The paper makes an argument for a stronger federal African Union (AU). It argues that the sooner member states of the AU give to the organization a significant portion of their sovereignty the better equipped it will become in seeking a better life for the people of the continent and also compete in the international arena. The paper presents eight strategic goals that the AU could implement to improve the lives of Africans. Finally, the paper calls for President Barack Obama to continue where his two immediate predecessors left …

"Barack Obama’S Dual Triple Heritage,", Amadu Jacky Kaba Jan 2008

"Barack Obama’S Dual Triple Heritage,", Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

Contributing to Ali A. Mazrui’s (1986) Africa’s triple heritage concept, this paper argues that United States Senator Barack Obama from Illinois has a dual triple heritage: (1) race or ethnicity (ethnic origin) and (2) religion. The paper argues that the new positive friendship or partnership between the people of Africa and the people of the United States in the first decade of the 21st century is a contributing factor to the Barack Obama phenomenon. Finally, the paper claims that Barack Obama has the potential to help in uniting: (1) the United States; (2) Africa and the United States; (3) a …

"Religion, Immigration And Assimilation: The Hispanic/Latino Population In The United States And The North African/Muslim Population In Europe,", Amadu Jacky Kaba Jan 2008

"Religion, Immigration And Assimilation: The Hispanic/Latino Population In The United States And The North African/Muslim Population In Europe,", Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

This paper argues that there are geographic and human (racial makeup) similarities in the emigration of Hispanics/Latinos to the U.S. and that of North Africans/Muslims to Europe. The paper argues, however, that compared to their counterparts in Europe, the Hispanic/Latino population in the U.S. tends to be more assimilated, with shared religious history (Christianity) being a big part of the reason for such assimilation. To put differently, unlike North African/Muslim immigrants in Europe, Latin American immigrants are more integrated in the U.S. because most of them share with the majority of the population similar beliefs in conservative traditions, Christianity and …

"Culture, Economic Progress And Immigration: The Hispanic/Latino Population In The U.S. And The North African/Muslim Population In European Countries,", Amadu Jacky Kaba Jan 2008

"Culture, Economic Progress And Immigration: The Hispanic/Latino Population In The U.S. And The North African/Muslim Population In European Countries,", Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

This paper explores the rising populations of Hispanics/Latinos in the United States and of North Africans/Muslims in European countries. It examines the “push” and “pull” factors contributing to the increase in emigration of Hispanics to the U.S. and North Africans/Muslims to Europe. Examining social and economic data for both immigrant groups, the paper argues that due largely to cultural similarities, the Hispanic population in the U.S. tends to be more easily integrated into the mainstream population than the North African/Muslim population in Europe.

"Sex Ratio At Birth And Racial Differences: Why Do Black Women Give Birth To More Females Than Non-Black Women?,", Amadu Jacky Kaba

Amadu Jacky Kaba

The two important questions that this paper will attempt to answer are: (1) why is it that regardless of race/ethnicity or geographic location, the sex ratio data at birth show more males than females?; and (2) Why is it that regardless of geographic location compared to other racial/ethnic groups, Black women or Women of sub-Saharan Black African descent tend to give birth to more females? Or to put this question the other way around, compared to Black women, why do non-Black women give birth to more males? (
