I remember being in chemistry and all of my friends were so excited to have this vacation, not knowing the severity of our indefinite situation. I went home with a group of my friends and I vividly remember my best friend's father telling us that this will be the craziest thing to happen in our lifetime. Obviously we did not care and proceeded to have fun and do everything we wanted. Looking back on that day it was very childish of us all to think that everything would be fine.

When I first heard that we were all getting two weeks off from school because of some weird virus, I was really excited. I didn’t know the severity of it until two weeks turned into three weeks, and three turned into six, and then we were out for the rest of the school year. I didn’t get Covid until the very end of it. I was in Europe on Vacation with my family and I was on a cruise.

My content expresses how I felt during the time of the Covid lockdown. I reflect back on my emotions during March 2020, and what life was like during that time. I also reflected on the fact that life was different in different parts of America. New York vs. Florida during peak Covid time was like living in two completely different worlds, which is explained in more detail in the document.

As time went on being so isolated started to take a toll mentally. Going into the summer the restrictions started to lighten up and I was able to see my friends outside for the first time in months. Many people were still very scared of getting covid, my parents included.

At first feelings of shock, confusion and disappointment started flooding my mind, but over'me as more and more media coverage on the virus surfaced this original two week shut down became a much more serious and scary reality. At first so called “zoom school” didn’t seem so bad, but then the crushing realiza'on of not being able to go out, see friends or even show our faces without a mask quickly came over me.

If you asked the 7.8 billion people who were alive during covid about their experience during isolation, you would hear 7.8 billion different stories because every single person experienced something new . Everyone was subject to their own homes and had to deal with whatever their family situation was like. For me personally, my family was pretty fortunate to have no deaths due to covid, however, the rollercoaster of emotions that the time period had put us all on is indescribable.

My COVID-19 experience was definitely something that I will never forget. At the time with me working in the healthcare field, being a CNA. It brought much stress and especially chaos. After coming home from long shifts helping with elderly patients who were sickened by covid, it definitely was hard to see and it took a toll on me.

Life was very different for me as a high school student during the Covid-19 epidemic. It was a frightening moment when a virus that no one understood suddenly engulfed the whole planet. One of the significant adjustments was going to school.

Right before COVID, my mother was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer, and needed to undergo chemotherapy while quarantining at home. During quarantine, people’s stories were that they stayed inside all day and did nothing, but for me, it was the complete opposite. My mom was very sick and weak, which meant that me and my sisters needed to step up.

It started with whispers in the hallway. Hearing rumors from peers that we would have two weeks off from school and then return to share stories from those glorious 14 days. In hindsight, it was naïve to think that Covid-19 would have such little impact on my life, but it eventually struck my family as it did thousands of others.

It was March 13, 2020, when the first encounter happened. The Coronavirus was still new to many of us, so we really did not know the true severity that this virus had in store. One morning, during second period, the entire school was called down to the auditorium for an impromptu assembly. With the recent closings of neighboring schools, we were certain that we were the next to close; everyone was ecstatic.
