The treaty set forth the Articles of Capitulation made on January 13, 1847, between the United States and California. The California forces under the Mexican flag were to deliver up their artillery and public arms, return peaceably to their homes, conform to the laws of the United States and not take up arms during the war between the United States and Mexico.
