Mental Health And Online Learning - Systematic Review Dataset, Stephanie L. Moore Phd, George Veletsianos, Michael Barbour

University Libraries & Learning Sciences Faculty and Staff Publications

While there has been a lot of debate over the impact of online and remote learning on mental health and well-being, there has been no systematic syntheses or reviews of the research on this particular issue. In this paper, we review the research on the relationship between mental health / well-being and online or remote learning. Our review shows that little scholarship existed prior to 2020 with most studies conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic. We report four findings: (a) pandemic effects are not well-controlled for in most studies; (b) studies present a very mixed picture, with variability around how mental …

Neutrosophic Over-/ Under- / Off-Set and -Logic

Neutrosophic Over-/Under-/Off-Set and -Logic were defined for the first time by Smarandache in 1995 and published in 2007. They are totally different from other sets/logics/probabilities. He extended the neutrosophic set respectively to Neutrosophic Overset {when some neutrosophic component is > 1}, Neutrosophic Underset {when …

Title: Pediatric Residency Academic Rotation Improves Self-Rated Proficiency in Quality Improvement Skills

Maria Heubeck, MD; Rebecca Craig, MD; Taylor, Ford, MD; Lanier Lopez, MD; Grace McCauley, MPH; Elizabeth Yakes Jimenez, PhD, RDN, LD

Introduction: As of July 2020, all second-year pediatric residents participate in a one-month academic rotation. The rotation focuses on quality improvement (QI), research, education and leadership skills and experience. This project aims to assess the impact of the rotation on residents’ self-reported QI proficiency, self-rated motivation to pursue scholarly activities, and competency based on ACGME milestones.

Methods: Pediatric residents participating in the academic rotation …

Engaging Stakeholders In Collaborative And Constructive Course Evaluation, Roger Jerabek, Rebecca Hartley, Nancy Shane, Renee Quintana

HSC Education Days

Implementing a coherent and coordinated curriculum, which prepares students for licensure exams and subsequent phases of their training, requires the concerted expertise and efforts of diverse stakeholders, including administrators, faculty, staff, and students. The Office of Program Evaluation, Education and Research (PEAR) is responsible for student evaluations of courses at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (SOM). In 2016, members of PEAR collaborated with the SOM Curriculum Committee to restructure the preclinical course review process to engage committee members more fully in monitoring courses. This poster summarizes evaluation processes, shares information on how other medical schools review preclinical …

eLearning for Medical Educators (eLME) is under development as a mechanism to provide professional learning in medical education to anyone, anytime, anywhere. The project began in 2016 at the Office for Medical Educator Development within the UNM School of Medicine in order to support community faculty who host medical students and residents at their clinics. eLME was planned with numerous stakeholders using the Kirkpatrick Business Partnership Model. Two modules were delivered in early 2017 and include a combination of self-reflection, interactive multimedia, and assessment.

Advances And Applications Of Dezert-Smarandache Theory (Dsmt), Vol. 1, Florentin Smarandache, Jean Dezert

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

The Dezert-Smarandache Theory (DSmT) of plausible and paradoxical reasoning is a natural extension of the classical Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST) but includes fundamental differences with the DST. DSmT allows to formally combine any types of independent sources of information represented in term of belief functions, but is mainly focused on the fusion of uncertain, highly conflicting and imprecise quantitative or qualitative sources of evidence. DSmT is able to solve complex, static or dynamic fusion problems beyond the limits of the DST framework, especially when conflicts between sources become large and when the refinement of the frame of the problem under consideration …
