Pupil transportation is coming to be considered an indispensable service in the West Virginia school systems. In the year 1941-42 more than 132,885 pupils were transported to and from West Virginia schools daily. This was an increase of 77,886 over the number transported in 1932-33 or an increase of about 8,660 annually.
The average daily attendance in the public elementary and secondary schools of West Virginia for the year 1941-42 and 395, 065 which shows that 33.63 per cent of all the pupils attending the public school were transported at public expense. The sum of $2,142,943.40 was spent for transportation, …

The purpose of this survey was to study the effect of three sources of income on family living conditions: incomes derived from industry; from agriculture; and from a combination of industry and agriculture.
The findings of such a study may be useful in showing the needs of Tennessee homes and thus furnish a basis for home economics courses of study and for training educational and social workers to adapt their work to home and family needs.

(Conclusions) The writer has drawn the following conclusions based on this study of the buying practices of a selected group of fifty employed women: (1) Some concerted effort should be made to teach people the meaning of terms used in advertising and selling hose. (2) Appearance and serviceability seem to be important factors in buying hose, but appearance makes a stronger appeal. (3) Generally speaking, price paid does not seem to be an indication of service which can be expected.

Introduction: This study is an analysis of the expenditures of approximately 550 Tennessee families classified by age, occupation, and sex groups for clothing purchased, ready-to-wear and made-at-home, during the year 1932 - 1933. The data were collected during the time between August, 1933, and May, 1934, and referred to the year previous.
