Previous research has established television as an effective instructional medium for many fields of study. The conclusions of research utilizing televised programs as instructional supplements have been equivocal however, with some studies lending support to the use of supplementary programs, and some showing their effects to be negligible. The present study was designed in view of the lack of research investigating the relationship of televised supplements to general psychology.
