It was the purpose of this study to consider materials for enrichment and supplemental purposes to strengthen the present reading program as it now exists in the Castle Rock Elementary School. The writer has found, however, that while materials do have a prominent role in reading, materials alone can not support an adequate program unless a more complete picture of the reading process is established and operating. Group discussion and planning began immediately. While plans were being made, the following problems arose and had to be solved: 1. What supplies shall we need? 2. When can we buy our supplies? 3. Where shall we get the money to pay for these supplies?
