The Maryland Commission on Uniform Accounts was created by an act of the General Assembly of Maryland (Chapter 328, Acts of 1947), adding Sections 49 to 59, inclusive, to Article 19 of the Public General Laws of Maryland (1939 Code); certain amendments thereto were effected by Chapter 492 of the Acts of 1949. Under the provisions of that law, the Commission was directed to establish a uniform system of financial reporting for all counties, incorporated cities or towns, and taxing districts and to prescribe the forms of the financial reports.
