Experiential Learning Process: Exploring Teaching And Learning Of Strategic Management Framework Through The Winter Survival Exercise, Maheshkumar P. Joshi, Elizabeth B. Davis, Ravi Kathuria, C. Ken Weidner Ii

Business Faculty Articles and Research

This article examines an attempt to introduce experiential learning methods in a business strategy course. In organizational behavior and industrial/organizational psychology, experiential teaching methods have been so widely adopted that some authors have suggested dropping the distinction between experiential and traditional teaching. Although intuitively appealing, experiential methods have not yet become popular among professors teaching strategy to traditional-age undergraduate students. It seems that heavy reliance on case-based teaching has resulted in a lack of emphasis on experiential learning tools for strategic management. Garbage-In, Garbage-Out: Item Generation As A Threat To Construct Validity, Terri A. Scandura Phd, Lucy R. Ford

Management Faculty Articles and Papers

Item generation has received only cursory attention in the research literature, despite the fact that it seems obvious that poorly written items will result in poor psychometric properties of measures. In this paper, we review the literature on item generation, develop a typology of threats to construct validity, and evaluate five commonly used
organizational research measures with respect to typology. Our results demonstrate that the sampled measures have significant problems that may represent threats to construct validity. recommendations for improved item generation practice are offered.

Analogie I Metafory Źródłem Nowych Idei W Praktyce Biznesowej, Anna Ujwary-Gil

Anna Ujwary-Gil

Analogie i metafory stanowią ważne, jakkolwiek mało doceniane, źródło poszukiwania idei.
