Research in Critical Success Factors (CSFs) of Enterprise Systems (ES) projects has identified numerous practitioner governance mechanisms for ensuring project success. However, such research has not developed a theory of why certain critical success factors encourage project success. Our research develops such theory on a case study where even though the levels of several critical success factors were weak, the project nevertheless succeeded. Collaborative efforts, economies of time and cost, competitive service quality, and technological flexibility are among the key concerns of operations for successful supply chains. Implementation of web-based technologies has contributred significantly towards the achievement of such objectives of supply chains. The presents study examines the various aspects of e-business technologies adoption with reference to the first-tier suppliers associated with the automotive supply chains in Thailand. The paper also investigates the impact of employing e-business technologies on the suppliers' performance.

This study was conducted to measure the mediating effect of distributive justice on the relationship between pay level, pay structure, and job commitment. A survey research method was used to gather 194 usable questionnaires from academic staff of 15 Malaysian public community colleges (MPCC). Outcomes of testing mediating model using a stepwise regression analysis showed that distributive justice has increased the effect of pay design features (i.e., pay level and pay structure) on job commitment. The now taken-for-granted notion that data lead to information, which leads to knowledge, which in turnleads to wisdom was first specified in detail by R. L. Ackoff in 1988. The Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom hierarchy is based on filtration, reduction, and transformation. Besides being causal and hierarchical,the scheme is pyramidal, in that data are plentiful while wisdom is almost nonexistent. Ackoff’s formulalinking these terms together this way permits us to ask what the opposite of knowledge is and whether analogous principles of hierarchy, process, and pyramiding apply to it. This paper proposes a triple model of typology of conflict management style, which incorporates three factors: (1) interaction concerns (cooperation versus competitiveness), (2) individualistic versus collectivistic cultures, and (3) environmental uncertainty (stable versus dynamic). The objectives are achieved by reviewing literature on the typology of conflict management style from the working of Blake and Mouton's (1964) model to Freeman and Browne's (2004) model. The fast growing economy and institutional and economic reforms made the Chinese equity markets the third largest in Asia. This leads to strategies of industrial diversification within Chinese firms. Financial theory suggests that industrial diversification may have advantages in emerging markets, because conglomerates are better able to cope with market imperfections than focused firms. Moreover, diversification through investing in many shares may be costly in imperfect markets. Negative effects of diversification can be found if hubris generates too large take-over premiums or if managers consume perks related to company size. The purpose of this paper is to develop an algorithm to harvest user specified information on finance portals and compile it into machine‐readable datasets for quantitative analysis. The Visual Basic macro language in Microsoft Excel is applied to develop code that is not constrained by the single‐query function of Excel. The core of the algorithm is built around the splitting of the URL connector line and the placement of a continuously updating variable into which are looped as many tickers as there are in the input list. Modeling complex urban traffic system requires extensive use of workflow methodologies which can simulate almost real time traffic situations. Number of studies were done in the field of Urban Traffic Simulation like PLOTS, NETSIM and PALAMICS but none of them could provide a real formal solution. Our paper proposes a methodology using Fuzzy Petri nets for modeling real time traffic system. Fuzzy Petrinets are also visualised and tested by using Flow- Charter and HPSIM software packages. These packages help in providing successive iterations of process model for further refinement.

Usability on Web sites is critical because almost no training is provided for users on commercial sites. Instead, Web design relies on standards and consistency across sites. Traditional usability results indicated that computer forms should follow paper-based forms. Yet, Web paradigms have evolved that are quite different from paper-based forms. Specifically, this study reveals that users commit fewer errors and prefer simple forms limited to a single concept per screen. This conclusion significantly alters the recommendations for designing business forms.

Knowledge libraries hold the promise of widespread access to information available anywhere, anytime, freeing patrons from the geographical and temporal boundaries that currently exist. The classification of materials and subsequent searching of knowledge library content is an overall problem with many complex parts. Relevant classification is important for optimal information retrieval. This is especially important for the virtual communities that exist with extended organizations. Rooted in the virtual community and digital library literature, this paper develops a theory for improving the information classification and retrieval process of knowledge libraries that support virtual communities by applying social bookmarking techniques.

The primary objective of the model was to build a flexible learning environment that combined the learning effectiveness of in-class learning with the flexibility and accessibility of online learning. We study the effects of learning and forgetting on maintenance outsourcing in this paper. This is an extension of the paper by Tarakci et al. (2009), which analyzed the effects of learning on maintenance outsourcing. In our model, a manufacturer offers a short-term outsourcing contract, where payment includes a fixed value along with cost subsidization for each preventive maintenance activity, to an external contractor. The contractor schedules and performs preventive maintenance activities as well as repairs the system if there is a failure. In this paper we consider a production-maintenance problem in which a buyer and a supplier have already entered into a contractual relationship for a firm delivery date. Our focus is on the production-related decisions of the supplier rather than the nature of the contract itself. This paper presents a study on the convergence of workers’ skill levels under learning and forgetting in processing time in a batch-manufacturing environment. The convergence properties are examined under assumptions of an infinite horizon, a constant demand rate, and a fixed lot size. Our work extends the convergence results of Teyarachakul, Chand, and Ward (2008) beyond Globerson and Levin’s (1987) exponential forgetting function and Wright’s (1936) learning curve to more general classes of learning and forgetting functions. We also discuss why early papers other than Teyarachakul, Chand, and Ward (2008) did not find other types of long-term behaviors beyond convergence …
