This paper will begin with a review of the relevant literature on corruption and its effect on economic growth, both in general and in China specifically. The following sections will discuss the state of corruption in China and outline China’s historic economic growth since it opened up to the global economy. Next, the methodologies of the empirical study of this paper and a model for measuring the effects of corruption on economic growth will be presented.
