Small-scale enterprises are lauded around the world for their contribution to economic development. Resources and capabilities play an important role as accelerators of entrepreneurial activity and also increase enterprise performance. This research strived to understand how Microfinance services affect the performance of smallholder coffee entrepreneurs but also examine government regulations as a moderating variable for the association between microfinance and the performance of smallholder coffee entrepreneurs. The study was guided by the resource-based view supported by dynamic capability and contingency theories. In the first essay I examine the cash policies of female-led firms. Recent research finds that female CEOs eschew riskier corporate policies, but it makes contradicting claims whether this is due to risk aversion. Benchmarking risk aversion by the management of firms’ cash, I find that female CEOs are risk averse relative to male CEOs. Specifically, they hold significantly (18%) more cash, even for the same level of dividend payout as male CEOs. Further, they have significantly higher speed of adjustment for cash deficits, are more likely to use excess cash to increase dividends, but are equally likely to use …

In this research, the case of AIRBLUE has been taken to examine what people think about its performance, whether they trust this airline or not, and are they satisfied or not? Further, this study measures the impacet of cabin crew performance and trust on customer satisfaction. The data was collected by distributing questionnaires to the domestic travelers of AIRBLUE. However, poorly conceived and implemented acquisitions can result in significant distraction, substantial financial write-offs and, in extreme cases, put the acquirer’s future in jeopardy.
