The large and growing size of the healthcare public spending for goods and services worries the institutions of many European countries, including Italy, and asks for rationalization initiatives. In parallel, e-procurement solutions spread into Public Administrations (PA's) and introduce innovative processes, primarily in the purchasing phase.

In this scenario, e-procurement has the potential to enable significant efficiency improvements in the public healthcare sector, with the reduction of purchasing and administrative costs. Serviceorientierte Architekturen (SOA) werden gegenwärtig als Ansatz für eine einfachere und flexiblere inner- und zwischenbetriebliche Integration heterogener Anwendungssysteme diskutiert. Dieser Beitrag entwickelt ein SOA-Architekturmodell und untersucht seine Ausprägung in vier Praxisbeispielen. Er identifiziert aus den Fallstudien ausserdem typische Architekturtreiber, Einsatzziele, Nutzenpotenziale und Architekturmassnahmen einer SOA-Umsetzung in der Praxis.

Abgestimmte Produktstammdaten bilden die Grundlage elektronischer Geschäftsbeziehungen zwischen Handels- und Industrieunternehmen. Sie sind damit ein Erfolgsfaktor für die Realisierung innovativer Geschäftsmodelle, die zu Umsatzsteigerungen und Kostenreduzierung entlang der Wertschöpfungskette führen. Obwohl Handel und Industrie sich schon vergleichsweise lange mit dem elektronischen Austausch von Produktdaten beschäftigen, konnten sich weder der EDI-basierte, bilaterale Stammdatenaustausch noch der multilaterale Ansatz über Datenpools durchsetzen. Artykuł prezentuje metodę KCE™ w kontekście wyceny wartości przedsiębiorstwa. Wzrastająca dysproporcja między księgową i rynkową wartością dużej liczby przedsiębiorstw wymusza bardziej precyzyjne wytłumaczenie tego zjawiska, kierując uwagę na niematerialne zasoby przedsiębiorstwa wpływające na jego wartość rynkową. Jakkolwiek problemem nie jest tylko wycena wartości zasobów niematerialnych w ujęciu finansowym, ale również metodologiczny konflikt miedzy tradycyjnym księgowym pomiarem a współczesnymi rynkami. Prezentowana metoda KCE™ częściowo wyjaśnia źródło tego konfliktu. Zastosowano ją do analizy dwóch przedsiębiorstw: Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. oraz Netia S.A., a uzyskane wyniki pozwalają zrozumieć, dlaczego i w jakim stopniu przedsiębiorstwa są niedoszacowane, bądź przeszacowane.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ocena operacyjnej efektywności w gospodarowaniu zasobami przedsiębiorstwa. Z wykorzystaniem metody VAIC™ analizie poddano kapitał fizyczny i strukturalny dwóch polskich spółek telekomunikacyjnych: Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. oraz Netia S.A. w perspektywie osiągnięć przedsiębiorstw podobnego sektora w Europie. W artykule podjęto próbę oceny metody i dyskusji nad możliwościami jej zastosowania oraz analizy materialnych i niematerialnych zasobów przedsiębiorstw.

E-contracting implies pre-order electronic interaction between customers and suppliers engaging in business transactions. This paper examines electronic contracting from an interorganizational perspective. It derives a collaboration process architecture for contracting in retail and industrial companies and outlines key design decisions concerning a process-supporting system architecture. A case from the retail industry illustrates major problems with paper-based contracting processes currently practiced by most companies and emphasizes the usefulness and applicability of the developed framework in industrial practice. Finally, we present a research agenda towards a holistic framework providing support for retail and industry companies in deploying e-contracting solutions.

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requires the disclosure of whether the audit committee has a financial expert. We examine disclosures related to audit committee financial experts (ACFEs) in the first year that this disclosure requirement is in effect. We find that virtually all companies disclose whether an ACFE is on the audit committee, although the transparency of the disclosure regarding the ACFE’s background is limited. We also find that most ACFEs do not have a background in accounting or finance, although there are notable differences between stock exchanges on this dimension.
