The large and growing size of the healthcare public spending for goods and services worries the institutions of many European countries, including Italy, and asks for rationalization initiatives. In parallel, e-procurement solutions spread into Public Administrations (PA's) and introduce innovative processes, primarily in the purchasing phase.

In this scenario, e-procurement has the potential to enable significant efficiency improvements in the public healthcare sector, with the reduction of purchasing and administrative costs. Predictions are that blogs will be the promotional tool of the future, if not now. The question remains: how credible are blogs as a source of consumer information? How do consumers perceive the credibility of blogs from different sources when making purchase decisions and product evaluations? The primary objective of the present study is to assess validity and reliability of a set of Semantic Differential scales purported to measure perceived credibility of different types of blogs. Serviceorientierte Architekturen (SOA) werden gegenwärtig als Ansatz für eine einfachere und flexiblere inner- und zwischenbetriebliche Integration heterogener Anwendungssysteme diskutiert. Dieser Beitrag entwickelt ein SOA-Architekturmodell und untersucht seine Ausprägung in vier Praxisbeispielen. Er identifiziert aus den Fallstudien ausserdem typische Architekturtreiber, Einsatzziele, Nutzenpotenziale und Architekturmassnahmen einer SOA-Umsetzung in der Praxis.

Sie sind damit ein Erfolgsfaktor für die Realisierung innovativer Geschäftsmodelle, die zu Umsatzsteigerungen und Kostenreduzierung entlang der Wertschöpfungskette führen. Every fall, thousands of high school swimming coaches across the country begin the arduous process of preparing their athletes for competition. With a grueling practice schedule and a dedicated group of athletes, a coach can hone the squad into a cohesive unit, poised for any competition. However, oftentimes all preparation is in vain, as coaches assign swimmers to events with a lineup that is far from optimal. E-contracting implies pre-order electronic interaction between customers and suppliers engaging in business transactions. This paper examines electronic contracting from an interorganizational perspective. It derives a collaboration process architecture for contracting in retail and industrial companies and outlines key design decisions concerning a process-supporting system architecture. A case from the retail industry illustrates major problems with paper-based contracting processes currently practiced by most companies and emphasizes the usefulness and applicability of the developed framework in industrial practice. Finally, we present a research agenda towards a holistic framework providing support for retail and industry companies in deploying e-contracting solutions.

Global partnerships are forming to take advantage of the cost savings associated with offshoring as well as other strategic benefits. Not all information technology offshoring projects, however, are successful. Cost overruns, increased complexity and defective code cause organizations to rethink their offshoring strategy and their methods for managing these projects. In this paper, project management issues associated with offshore information technology outsourcing projects are identified and specific recommendations for addressing these issues are presented.

Swiss Volkswagen importer AMAG reorganized its spare parts supply process through a new method of collaboration between Volkswagen, AMAG’s central warehouse and regional warehouses, and service stations. From the service station spare parts orders via replenishment by the VW spare parts warehouse in Kassel (Germany) and by other sup-pliers, to Swiss customs, inventory levels in the central and regional warehouses, and the delivery to the service stations, the entire process utilizes the same database in real time.
