This research is concerned with identifying the benefits of Continuous Professional Development for the Visual Communications sector in Ireland, with the aim of establishing what benefits exist for both the employee and employer. Artykułu przedstawia koncepcję zasobowej teorii przedsiębiorstwa, w której nawiązano do poglądów reprezentantów tej teorii, którzy wnieśli największy wkład w jej rozwój oraz charakterystykę. Zwrócenie uwagi na efektywność przedsiębiorstwa z perspektywy podejścia zasobowego. Ponadto autorka zawarła rozważania na temat rozumienia wartości i przewagi konkurencyjnej w tym właśnie ujęciu. Artykuł kończy refleksja nad koniecznością rozwinięcia tego podejścia w kierunku zbadania wpływu wykorzystania zasobów niematerialnych na wzrost wartości rynkowej przedsiębiorstw oraz kierunki rozwinięcia tej teorii.
