Beginning in 2017, American Logistics Aid Network has given out annual awards to for-profit companies recognizing their achievements in humanitarian aid. The Outstanding Contribution to Disaster Relief Award is recognition-based only and does not have any prize money associated with it. The degree of the awards’ effectiveness has been a subject much debated in scholarship. This research attempts to answer how the American Logistics Aid Network’s Outstanding Contribution to Disaster Relief Award affects the recipients financially. [Excerpt] This article reports on the results of our recent study of 3,200 arbitration awards issued in employment cases administered under the auspices of FINRA, its predecessor the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). It responds to Colvin’s call for more empirical research while providing some data on the debate over the fairness of mandatory employment arbitration agreements in the securities industry. Bad Apples In Bad Barrels Revisited: Cognitive Moral Development, Just World Beliefs, Rewards, And Ethical Decision Making, Neal M. Ashkanasy, Carolyn Windsor, Linda K. Trevino

In this study, we test the interactive effect on ethical decision-making of (1) personal characteristics, and (2) personal expectancies based on perceptions of organizational rewards and punishments. Personal characteristics studied were cognitive moral development and belief in a just world. Using an in-basket simulation, we found that exposure to reward system information influenced managers' outcome expectancies. Further, outcome expectancies and belief in a just world interacted with managers' cognitive moral development to influence managers' ethical decision-making. In particular, low-cognitive moral development managers who expected that their organization condoned unethical behavior made less ethical decisions while high cognitive moral development managers …
