The majority of literature dealing with the adult learner concept revolves around teaching methodologies or learning capabilities. While there is some literature on motivation in adult learners, the general assumption is that all those over the age of 25 are similarly motivated and share common perceptions.

To determine whether student perceptions, motivations and needs could be distinguished by age categories, survey results of 936 students at Sinclair Community College were categorized within 4 age cohorts. The development and implementation of a mail questionnaire proved to satisfy the goal of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce to promote export activity in the region. The results of the survey indicate that over one third of the respondents to the survey are actively engaged in exporting. The identification on these firms will allow the Chamber to more effectively promote their goods and services abroad.

The manipulation of the results obtained from the survey will be used to publish a listing of companies in the Dayton area engaged in exporting goods and services to foreign countries. The resultant export …

This thesis examines the automation of the Directorate of Research and Development Contracting at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Background information on the Directorate is given along with the previous methods of producing contractual documents. The central problem of the thesis is to determine if the benefits of automating the Directorate outweigh the costs. A cost benefit analysis was used to make this determination. Each cost and each benefit is discussed in great detail along with the methodology used to measure each particular cost and benefit. Sinclair Community College, like all institutions of higher education, has tremendous need for accurate enrollment forecasts. Until recently, using a combination of forecasting tools, the forecasts generated by the Office of Institutional Planning and Research (IPR) have been quite adequate. Recently, however, the accuracy of the enrollment predictions has waned considerably. In an effort to reverse this trend, it was decided to add another, previously untried, forecasting method to the IPR arsenal: Autoregressive Integrated Moving Averages, or ARIMA.

ARIMA models are a time series forecasting tool developed by Box and Jenkins in the late 1960s and early 1970s. After careful …
